PM Chairs 18th BRICS Summit in Delhi

The 18th BRICS Summit convened in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister led high-level deliberations centered on global cooperation and multilateral governance. On September 12, 2026, the Prime Minister chaired a dedicated summit session focused on “Inclusive Global Governance and Strengthening Multilateralism,” bringing international focus to collective administrative and diplomatic frameworks.
The summit agenda also featured opening remarks from the Prime Minister during a session themed “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth.” In addition to institutional discussions, the forum witnessed backing from BRICS for an expert group on traditional medicine, highlighting the need for evidence-based global cooperation in the sector.

Extensive diplomatic engagements took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. The Prime Minister met with several international dignitaries, including the Chairperson of the African Union and President of the Republic of Burundi, the President of South Africa, the Vice President of Nigeria, the Vice President of Uganda, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Further bilateral discussions were conducted at the official level, including a meeting between India's Defence Secretary and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of National Defence.
