Snap Unveils AI-Powered Specs Glasses

Snap has announced new AI and augmented-reality features for its $2,195 Specs smart glasses, ahead of their planned launch later this year.

Snap has unveiled new features for its upcoming Specs augmented-reality smart glasses, including a personal AI assistant called SPECS Intelligence. The glasses are expected to begin shipping in the US, UK and France in fall 2026, with an in-person preview planned in Los Angeles from October 1.

Priced at $2,195, Specs are designed as standalone AR glasses with computing hardware built directly into the frames. Users will be able to interact with digital content through voice and hand gestures while viewing information over their surroundings.

SPECS Intelligence is designed as an anticipatory AI service that works across iPhone, Mac and the Specs glasses. Snap says it can use information from connected apps and tools to understand users’ goals, priorities and routines and surface relevant information when needed.

The glasses will support features including calls, music, video streaming, shopping, navigation, real-time translation and interactive sports experiences. Snap is also working with partners including Salesforce, Nvidia and Amazon Web Services on enterprise applications for workplace tasks.
