Kuku Technologies, the parent company of Kuku FM and Kuku TV, turned profitable in financial year 2026 as its operating revenue surged more than sixfold to ₹1,484.2 crore from ₹241.5 crore in FY25. The figures are based on the company's latest financial statements.

The company reported a net profit of ₹182.7 crore in FY26, compared with a net loss of ₹152.6 crore a year earlier. However, the reported profit included a deferred tax credit of ₹98.2 crore, while profit before tax stood at ₹88.6 crore.

Operating revenue reached ₹1,484.2 crore, while profit before tax stood at ₹88.6 crore. Marketing and advertising spending rose to ₹1,105.1 crore during the year.

Kuku's revenue growth came as the company scaled Kuku TV and expanded its microdrama business. Subscription revenue accounted for ₹1,475.4 crore of operating revenue, while pay-per-piece purchases contributed ₹6.9 crore and advertising revenue stood at ₹1.9 crore.

India remained the company's dominant market, contributing ₹1,463.6 crore, or about 99 percent, of FY26 operating revenue. International markets contributed ₹20.5 crore during the year.

Kuku has also been increasing its use of artificial intelligence across content creation, including ideation, scripting, production and audience engagement. The company said it was producing around 500 microdrama shows a month and plans to scale production further.

The financial improvement comes ahead of Kuku's proposed initial public offering. The company had confidentially filed IPO papers with SEBI earlier this year and is targeting a fundraising of up to ₹3,500 crore, according to earlier reports.
