Simple Energy Raises $180 Million

The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker will use its largest funding round to expand production, retail reach and product development across India.
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has raised ₹1,750 crore, or about $180 million, in its largest funding round to date. The all-equity Series C round was led by the family office of Thyrocare Technologies founder Dr Arokiaswamy Velumani.
The round also saw participation from Simple Energy founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar, cofounder and CFO Ankit Gupta, Bengaluru-based high-net-worth individual Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office.
FUNDING ROUND
Simple Energy has raised ₹1,750 crore in an all-equity Series C round, its largest funding round so far.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to increase manufacturing capacity, expand its retail network and support product development. Simple Energy currently has installed production capacity of 10,000 electric two-wheelers a month.
CEO Suhas Rajkumar said the company aims to increase capacity to around 25,000 scooters a month over the next year while expanding its retail presence across the country. Simple Energy said demand for its scooters is currently higher than its ability to supply them.
The company had previously raised ₹250 crore in June 2026 to support manufacturing and retail expansion. With the latest round, Simple Energy has raised more than ₹2,500 crore in total, according to reports.
EV EXPANSION
Simple Energy is targeting higher production and a wider retail network as it seeks to strengthen its position in India's electric two-wheeler market.
Simple Energy currently operates more than 80 stores across over 60 locations and sells electric scooters including the Simple One and Simple Wave. The company has also indicated plans to pursue a public listing in FY28 rather than raise another funding round.
