The US delivery company has opened a global technology hub in Hyderabad and plans to expand its workforce there over the next two years.
DoorDash plans to create 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through a new global technology hub in Hyderabad, according to the Telangana state government.
The US-based food delivery company opened the Hyderabad centre on September 30, expanding its presence in India as global companies continue to establish technology and capability centres in the country.
KEY HIGHLIGHT
DoorDash plans to create 3,000 jobs in India over the next two years through its new Hyderabad hub.
The centre will initially house teams responsible for customer support as well as general and administrative functions, according to the state government's announcement.
The Hyderabad facility will begin with about 500 employees and is expected to expand as DoorDash builds out its operations in the city.
Hyderabad adds to DoorDash's existing technology presence in India. The company also has operations in Pune covering software, data and analytics, linked to its 2021 acquisition of robotics startup Chowbotics.
INDIA EXPANSION
The Hyderabad centre expands DoorDash's India footprint beyond its existing technology operations in Pune.
The expansion comes as India remains a major destination for global capability centres, supported by its large technology workforce and growing role in engineering, business services and other corporate functions.
